Resting...
Hi All!
K and I constantly say that we want to be better about updating the blog - hopefully we will!
The church has given me a sabbatical for the month of July - it has been an awesome blessing already. My only duties are on Sunday morning. Sometimes you don't realize how tired you are until you stop! We are thanking the Lord for this time of rest and rejuvenation!

Time for an update!
It has been so long since we posted an update that Grandparents are threatening to drive to ND just to see little E!
Baby boy is doing so well. He is gaining weight and height (though perhaps length would be a more apt term being that he can’t stand up yet!) He is now closing in on two feet and twelve pounds! I joked yesterday that he will be taller than his more by age nine!
Life is good here in the Buffalo City! The past several days have been rainy - an incredible blessing for the farmers. Many of the men in church were concerned about their crops this year. One farmer so wisely said that God would still be a gracious and loving God even if rain didn't come but he would sure be thankful if it did!
We are excited for the next few weeks! K's side of the family will be visiting next week for a few days and after that a good friend of K's will be visiting for a week! Company is especially nice for K and E because I have a busy next two weeks. On Saturday around 20 high school students will be coming to church from across the country to participate in our two week Mission Experience. After a week of training the students will lead a group of kids at VBS. Be praying that God will use this experience to deepen each student's understanding of grace and that they will be motivated out of thankfulness to serve God in all things.
Hope that you all are enjoying the pictures above! The one of his hand has a tiny camouflage bandage on it (Uncle J would be proud) - K barely nicked the tip of his finger with the fingernail clipper. He didn't even fuss but we thought he needed a bandage and a picture of his first "owee."
Well, Z is tired... so we are going to take advantage of that fact and get some much needed sleep ourselves!
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God!

Blown Away!
Hello All!
Yesterday and Friday the wind was blowing steadily around 30 mph with gusts up to 40! Chicago is known as the windy city but I think we here equally deserves this honor! In spite of the wind we are very thankful that we got our garage painted yesterday. K worked in the flower beds, and I planted tomatoes and peppers. Our home continues to take shape.
Z took his first stroller ride this weekend. The wind was a little brisk, but he seemed to enjoy the sunshine and the singing birds. He continues to grow stronger! At his doctor's appointment this week he measured 23 inches and weighed 9 lbs. 7 oz. It's amazing how fast he is growing! He also received his first shot this week. I am not sure whether it hurt him or K more! She said his little face turned crayon red and then he just started screaming. Thankfully it did not take long to calm back down.
These pictures are from Mother's day. Z gave K pink roses, but he didn't let her stay for the entire sermon...her new dress felt warm and wet half way through. :) That evens the score for all the times he has soaked me.

Greetings from the “Land of 10,000 Lakes!”
Hello!
I am taking New Testament Intro II at the seminary this week. “K,” “E” and I are staying at my parent’s farm in MN. Classes are going well. Your prayers would definitly be appreciated as we are cramming an entire semester’s class into five days! There are three tests, five quizzes, and two papers due this week! God is being so faithful though (as always!) It is amazing how much information God enables a person to retain as they are studying His Word. I have no doubt that if I was studying something else I would not remember it nearly as easily!
“E” is still doing so well! He is still sleeping 4-5 hours straight from about 9:00 on and then another 3-4 after a night feeding! We are very thankful for each night of rest! Today he is eating about every hour and half and going through clothes at about the same rate! He is on outfit #4 already! He is getting cuter every day. When he was born he had black hair and since it has steadily been getting lighter. He is a medium/light brown now. It is going to be fun to see what his final color will be!
Well, it is time to hit the books! (50 pages down and 250 to go!)
